Commander Shepard is back in the third and final installment in Bioware’s epic space trilogy. As Commander Shepard, an Alliance Marine, your only hope for saving mankind is to rally the civilizations of the galaxy and launch one final mission to take back the Earth and fight a race of terrifying machines attempting to wipe out the human race.
Where previous installments had you choosing a number of options by using the controller, Mass Effect 3 will support Kinect’s voice recognition. No motion recognition is supported yet.
All you have to do is to read out the option you want to choose, and the game will select it for you. The voice recognition can also be used in full combat, with you issuing commands to direct Shepard’s squad against the enemies.
The developers really went for broke with stunning design, graphics and fluid gameplay. It has that the look and feel of a real movie that you interact with. Unlike those games that have a great cinematic trailer but crappy in-game graphics, Mass Effect 3 has it all.
A powerful story that has lots of mileage and background to it, an AI that is scary to say the least and the Kinect gameplay puts you in control and responsibility for your actions during the game which in fact is designed to change in response to your choices.
With the AI against you knowing how you move, responding to your actions and strategies you will be up to your ears in action. And with a plot of open-ended possibilities, this could well be the best game in the trilogy.
