Unlike the traditional Forza Motorsport games that are focused strictly on closed circuit courses, Forza horizon is an open-world racing game “that begs to be explored”.

Set in a fictional music festival, known as the Horizon, Forza Horizon doesn’t just reward you for racing fast, or finishing in first place, but instead lets you earn points with show-off driving.

You amass points for impressive or risky manoeuvres such as drifting, drafting, skilful overtaking, near misses, jumps, etc. Your points tally then allows you to buy new cars or modify them. It also increases your “popularity”, resulting in more invitations to race, with the goal of being crowned “number ONE”.

New among its features is a Kinect-enabled, voice-based GPS navigation system that lets you call up “travel instructions” using voice commands. [via]
